More funds needed

I was dismayed to learn of the funding crisis faced by the project For Immigrants and Refugees Surviving Torture, or FIRST, in Lincoln.

FIRST has provided crucial mental health services and community integration for new Nebraskans. It also has taught me and my Nebraska Wesleyan University students a great deal about the traumas and obstacles faced by recent immigrants.

I hope we will not abandon FIRST. Please help it in the spirit in which it has helped us.
